urban75 is the non-profit obsession of Brixton Welshman, Mike Slocombe, who has been locked in a dark room updating and improving the site since 1996.
From its roots in a Cardiff City comic, urban75 went online as a resource for the Footie Fans vs the CJA campaign before evolving into the online colossus that you see before you. » (Click here for site FAQs and background). Mike would like to extend a big "Yo! Respect!" to all those who have given their time and energy to the site. Check out the roll of honour below: The Bulletin Boards www.urban75.net/vbulletin/ Looking after one of the UKs busiest bulletin boards takes time and dedication, so let's hear it for the Mighty Moderating team! Ruby TooGood: Usually to be found gassing in the chatroom, the ever-vigilant Ruby has become an essential part of the boards admin team, always at hand to keep things running smoothly. Mrs Magpie: Brixton's very own Mrs M swoops on troublesome posters before they can type the word 'troll' and her nocturnal, thread-deleting massacres have made her the toast of the admin 'delete' button. Han: No stranger to larging it up big-time stylee in 'real life', Han reveals a more sensitive side on the boards, taking care of the travel, books, music and tech forums. Fridge Magnet: When most of the mods are tucked up in bed, dreaming of a day without a 'reported post', Transatlantic Fridgie casts a watchful eye over the boards throughout the wee small hours of the morning. And we love him for it! Miss Minnie: Our resident PHP Princess and MySQL Maestro, Miss Minnie has been an invaluable help in keeping the boards online, well oiled and whirring satisfactorily. (Also thanks to Paul Bakalite - aka hatboy - who moderated our busy Brixton forum for three years until April 2004 and Spud Murphy for his excellent moderating of the London forum. And big up Rennie, the Middle East mod!) Offline club Big up to the DJs, performers and Dogstar crew who help put together the Offline club in Brixton, London. Special thanks to Vic Lambrusco for the fabulous cabaret club, Sonik, DJ Wrongspeed, Dub, Skim, Ian W for their continuing support and Andrew at the Dogstar for helping it happen. Thanks also to Ed at the Ritzy. The Chat Room www.urban75.com/chat.html Lartz: Thanks to his sterling efforts, urban75 has a place for compulsive talkers, drunkards, bored people and argumentative types to while away the hours! Games/tech Emerald Mosley Bright and sparkly with a fist full of felt pens, the lovely Emerald balances the pressures of being a commercial web designer with her own collection of illustrations and stuff on her personal website Gwynne Reddick Gwynne's top level technical boffinery has often been called upon to help keep the wheels of u75 running smoothly. Cheers! Steve Marchant Top cartoonist Steve teaches and practises his art in London, and has published several excellent comic books in his 'Fantastic Life' series. Check out his superb new Stupidface comic book. Mein hosts We are hosted by the most excellent www.exonetric.com/.
