urban75: FAQs FAQs

what's this 'urban75 design' all about then? I work as a freelance web designer and this commercial work pays for the site. Working freelance means that I get the freedom and time to keep urban75 updated - and believe me, it's a lot of work!
who have you designed sites for? I've developed sites for people like Virgin Radio, TFiFriday, Capital Radio, XFM, British Council - and the Teletubbies! Check out my portfolio for more.
can I work/intern with you? Sadly, the office is way too small for interns. We appreciate help running the site, but being non-profit, we can't pay anyone!
how do you equate your politics with commercial pressures? Tough one! I try to follow my instincts and avoid companies who I'd feel uneasy working with. I've already turned down several contracts for those reasons. But heck, we've all got to eat at the end of the day, and my bottom line is I'll do whatever it takes to keep urban75 online, updated and free.
isn't the whole site just a front for promoting your design company? Nope. Urban75 comes first - all my other work just gives me the time and cash to keep the site going.
but haven't you sold out to The Man? Puh-lease!. All I care about is making sure urban75 remains updated, politically honest, free and unhindered by any commercial pressures. If I've got to work for the occasional less-than-totally-groovy company to make this happen, that's a small price to pay.
